Floors

Prebid floors are sent to bidders in the bid request so they can adjust their bid strategy.

🤓 Naming each rule you create is compulsory, in order to quickly see the reason/motive of the rule - for any user of Lens.

Prior to show you how to create rules, it is important to understand how it works :

• Parent floor rule: here you define the perimeter of your inventory where you want to apply floors (by dimensions). It is also where you set a default floor.

• Child floor rules: here you create more granular rules, which can be exceptions for a specific device, format, placement, bidder, etc…

The priority between all child rules is set by the parameter Dimension and the order in which values are selected.

e.g. Dimension = AdFormat - Bidder - Device: a rule with a specific AdFormat will come 1st in terms of priority over a rule with a specific Bidder or Device.

But the more dimensions are selected, the more the rule has priority.

e.g. ‘AdFormat = instream, outstream / Bidder = Equativ’ will have more priority than ‘AdFormat = instream, outstream’.

The steps to create a Floor rule:

• Parent floor rule

1. Click on NEW RULE

2. Give a NAME to the rule

3. Set a DEFAULT FLOOR

4. Select the DIMENSION which will set the granularity and priority of your child rules

5. By default, a new rule will apply to your entire inventory. If you want to enable it only on some part of your inventory, you can select any value in the available dimensions. e.g. Rules per website: select it in SUPPORT

6. Once finished selecting all values, click on ADD RULE

• Child floor rule(s)

1. Click on ADD under the table created by the parent floor rule just created

2. Set the FLOOR

3. Select the values in the dimensions previously selected in the parent floor rule

4. Once finished selecting all values, click on ADD RULE

5. In order for the rule(s) to be deployed for all your website’s users, click on DEPLOY

You will be able to find back this new rule in the Activity page as ADDITION.

Note: you can either include or exclude selected values from the parent floor rule.

e.g. you want to add a floor rule on all layouts except 2:

1. Click on LAYOUT

2. Click on EXCLUDE

3. Select those 2 placements

Rules are ranked by Status (Active first) and Update date (Latest first).

STATUS is new: instead of deleting the rule you created (which can be long and annoying depending on the values selected), you can simply change its status from ACTIVE to INACTIVE.

You can also modify the existing rules:

1. Click on the rule

2. Change the different fields

3. Once finished making the necessary changes, click on SAVE

4. In order for the rule to be deployed for all your website’s users, click on DEPLOY

The date of the rule will then change and you will be able to find back this change in the Activity page as EDITION.
