CPM Adjustements

Bid CPM can be adjusted for many reasons, allowing a fair competition and most profitable to the publisher.

Remember when Hubvisor’s team asks you to conduct a financial audit of your demand partners? This is where the bid adjustments are set up after analysis and complete audit.

Note: Adjustments can be slightly different depending on the ad format.

To adjust the bid CPM of your bidders, you can create a New Rule here: https://lens.hubvisor.io/optimisations/cpm-adjustment

🤓 We recommend you give a name to each rule you create, in order to quickly see the reason/motive of the rule - for any user of Lens.

The steps to adjust the bid CPM for one bidder:

  1. Click on NEW RULE

  2. Give a NAME to the rule

  3. By default, the ADJUSTMENT will be 1.
    It means that you multiply the bid CPM by 1 —> no adjustment. e.g.
    If you want to adjust the bid CPM by -6%, you’ll have to type 0.94.

  4. Select one BIDDER

  5. By default, the new rule will apply to your entire inventory available to this bidder.
    If you want to adjust the bid CPM only on some part of the inventory, you can select any value in the available dimensions.

  6. Once finished selecting all values, click on ADD RULE

In order for the rule to be deployed for all your website’s users, click on DEPLOY

You will be able to find back this new rule in the Activity page as ADDITION.
Note: you can either include or exclude selected values from the adjustment rule.

e.g. you want to adjust a bidder’s bid CPM on all placements except 2:

  1. Click on PLACEMENT

  2. Click on EXCLUDE

  3. Select those 2 placements

Rules are ranked by Status (Active first) and Update date (Latest first).

STATUS is new: instead of deleting the rule you created (which can be long and annoying depending on the values selected), you can simply change its status from ACTIVE to INACTIVE.

You can also modify the existing rules:

  1. Click on the rule

  2. Change the different fields

  3. One finished making the necessary changes, click on SAVE

  4. In order for the rule to be deployed for all your website’s users, click on DEPLOY

The date of the rule will then change and you will be able to find back this change in the Activity page as EDITION.
